Aleppo Chile Pepper Salt Blend

This blend is a lovely combination of Aleppo pepper flakes and pink Himalayan salt. Use it as your regular on-the-table salt and pepper blend.

Aleppo pepper is a fruity chile from Syria with a low-to-moderate heat level of 10,000 on the Scoville Heat Scale. That's about the level of black pepper and tastes a bit like the slightly milder ancho chile pepper.  In addition to the fruity notes, Aleppo chile has mild, cumin-like undertones with slightly salty flavor because salt is often used in the drying process.
